Working with Miltech, we obtained a grant from the US Air Force to further develop the potential for a commercial product to provide for real-time heat stress monitoring.  While multiple commercial products exist for measuring core body temperature during exercise and/or work in the heat, they are costly and invasive.  Using data obtained from several hundred heat stress trials, we have developed a series of proprietary algorithms to forecast a real-time “Environmental Stress Signature Score.”  Our vision for this product and formula series is to provide instantaneous athlete/worker monitoring to prevent heat injury.  Moreover, the sensitivity within the equation series allows us to objectively evaluate small changes in environmental stress associated with specific textile designs to optimize performance potential in all environments.
